Conflict Continues over the New Museum of Western Art

The struggle to rebuild the long-dead New Museum of Western Art in Moscow appeared to be over months ago with a statement from Medvedev that the collection, divided between the Hermitage Museum and the Pushkin Museum in 1948, would be recreated online. Since then, however, there has been a news conference, a change of power at the Pushkin Museum, and yes, Putin is involved. The fate of the museum is again up in the air. The New York Times has all the details.
